Individual counselling

You do not need to be in crisis to want things to feel different

Practical, compassionate one-to-one counselling in Howick and online across New Zealand.

A place to make sense of things

Counselling can begin before things become overwhelming.

You might know exactly what you want help with, or you might only know that something has not felt right for a while.

Individual counselling gives you a steady place to slow things down, understand what is happening and work toward changes that fit your actual life. Jonathan's approach is collaborative and person-centred, with practical tools used when they are helpful.

You are not expected to arrive with the right words, a diagnosis or a perfectly defined goal. We can work that out together.

What people bring

Support for the things that are getting in the way

These are common starting points, not a checklist you need to fit.

Anxiety & overthinking

When your mind stays switched on, worry is hard to contain or stress is taking up too much space.

Depression & low mood

Support when motivation is depleted, things feel flat or it is becoming harder to see a way forward.

Relationships & boundaries

A place to understand recurring patterns, conflict, attachment, people-pleasing and what you need from relationships.

Burnout & pressure

For feeling stretched too thin, carrying too much responsibility or struggling to switch off from work and expectations.

Grief & life changes

Space to process loss, separation, relocation, career change or another season that has shifted your sense of stability.

Identity & self-esteem

Explore confidence, belonging, sexuality, culture, faith, masculinity and the stories you carry about yourself.

What sessions are like

Warm, grounded and useful

The work is shaped around you rather than forcing every concern into one therapy model.

01

Start with what is happening now

We begin with what has brought you in, what matters most and what you would like to be different.

02

Understand the pattern

We slow things down enough to notice the thoughts, emotions, relationships and experiences that may be keeping the problem going.

03

Build a way forward

Depending on what fits, sessions can include reflection, practical strategies, experiments between sessions and clearer next steps.
